Dr. Ehsan Sari
Co-founder
Genomics and Microbiology
Ehsan Sari is a research scientist specializing in genomics, genetics, and bioinformatics. With a Ph.D. in genetics and experience at leading research institutions in the U.S. and Canada, Dr. Sari is recognized for his expertise in microbial genome assembly, transcriptomics, and gene regulation. He has pioneered fungal genome sequencing and annotation and currently advances research on pyrophilous bacteria and fungi. At Cyclobiome, Dr. Sari brings a robust scientific background and innovative approach, aiming to harness the power of microbes to address challenges in clean energy and electric vehicles. Driven by a deep passion for the planet, he is committed to developing sustainable solutions that protect and nurture the environment for future generations.
Dr. Bryan Gerber
Co-founder
Synthetic Microbiology
Bryan Gerber is a synthetic biology innovator and community developer of biotech entrepreneurship. Through his PhD work at Caltech, Bryan has conducted research on synthetic DNA construction, microbial delivery and integration, biocontainment and genetic circuits. He has worked with many early-stage life scientists to conceptualize and form initial business plans around cutting-edge technologies that are transitioning out of academia into the startup world. Bryan is passionate about educating students on entrepreneurship, having hosted over 90 events and assisting with teaching entrepreneurship classes at Caltech. Bryan is excited to leverage his synthetic biology knowledge to help Cyclobiome tackle upcoming challenges.
Walter Paley

Marketing Specialist
Walt Paley is a marketing leader with a track record of creative innovation, rooted in his undergrad coursework at UC San Diego. He is a full-stack marketer and has led efforts focused on branding, positioning, inbound and outbound campaigns, and everything else required to take a startup from zero to one. With experience in deep tech, real estate, finance, and direct-to-consumer brands, among a variety of industry verticals, and after multiple successful exits via acquisition and stints at publicly traded companies, Walt's excited to be back in an early stage environment and contribute to the growth of Cyclobiome.
